Leaders Club
Hanging Out for a Purpose
YMCA Leaders Club Program
Leaders Club helps young adults explore different leadership styles and develop their skills through volunteer service at the Y and in their local community. Students in grades 6-12 (ages 12-17) come together to discuss ethics and strengthen their leadership abilities.
Leaders Club is a welcoming, judgment-free environment that emphasizes positive peer relationships, provides hands-on learning experiences, and fosters growth through the YMCA’s Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Guided by the principles of Servant Leadership, members focus on giving back through meaningful service. Members lend a hand at various Y events such as Trunk or Treat, Healthy Kids Day, and non-perishable item drives. Volunteer hours can be used for NHS requirements and may enhance college applications.
Leaders Clubs are staffed by adult YMCA staff who facilitate the program, provide opportunities and training, and chaperone teens on volunteer service trips, regional events such as rallies, and other club-related activities.
