Art Workshops
During the year, the Davis Family YMCA Arts & Humanities department offers artistic workshops. These workshops are conducted by local artists with expertise in that area.
Smartphone Photography Workshop
Grab Your Phone for a NEW Experience!
Do you pull out your phone to capture a sunset, but are never satisfied with the results? Your smartphone can take beautiful photos, you just need to know how to use it! Award winning photographer Linda Vasconi will have you shooting like a pro in no time.
You’ll learn about composition, natural lighting techniques, simple editing tricks and more! No fancy equipment needed, just your phone and a willingness to see the world from different perspectives. Perfect for beginners and casual photographers.
Saturday, September 19, 1-3 pm
Explore a variety of compositional techniques to elevate photography using the phone that already resides in your pocket. Rule of thirds, leading lines, lighting, framing, and more will be introduced. Linda will create a few still life setting/displays to photograph in the classroom.
We will meet in the Art Studio at the Davis Family Y.
Saturday, October 17, 9-11 am
Learn to capture stunning photos during this on location class with Linda Vasconi.
We will be on location in Mill Creek Park. Location to be announced. Dress for the weather.
